Maple Ave School Class of 1965

Maple Avenue School Class of 1965 Maple Avenue School, our much loved alma mater 33 Maple Avenue, Newark 12, New Jersey We celebrate how Maple Avenue School shaped its Class of 1965 from a wonderfully and diversely gifted student body to “grownups” with a rich assortment of achievements and experiences.  We were educated well, taught to think for ourselves and prepared for life to come.   Our 50th reunion on June 25-26, 2015 was an incredibly exciting dream come true, a regathering of childhood friends from the mists of Maple's past.  Since then, many of us have stayed in touch, visited with each other, spoken on the phone and communicated via social media.  These relationships, some renewed, some new, restored something once lost.    Our 60th reunion on October 26-27, 2024 was incredibly intimate, as we shared memories that have sweetened with time and reflected on life's experiences.  There was mutual agreement that we were blessed to have grown...

  60th Reunion Breakfast, October 27, 2024  Bacall's, APA Hotel, Iselin, NJ Ron Joffe:  "I was a young boy, an immigrant from Israel to Newark, NJ, who didn't speak a word of English.  Another boy, Paul Fisher, my new classmate at Maple Avenue School, befriended me.  He helped me, taught me English and especially to curse in English.  Paul became my lifelong best friend."
